SUMMARY:Webinar – Sparking High Potential: Inviting and Fostering Talent Development
DESCRIPTION:\nGuest Speaker: Dr. Catherine Little\n\n\n\nHigh academic potential exists in students from all different backgrounds, but it is not always recognized or nurtured in the classroom, especially among students from traditionally underserved populations. Yet early attention to high potential is critical for helping students access opportunities for advanced learning, and access at any age is the first key to fostering talent development. Building a learning context that allows high potential to emerge requires high-quality curriculum and instruction and knowledgeable, perceptive teachers who seek and nurture advanced learning behaviors. This session focuses on guidelines and lessons learned from several Javits grant projects focused on finding and fostering high potential through curriculum and instruction.\n
