Call to Action for HB 1611

HB 1611 is headed to the House floor for debate and passage!  This bill will require districts to have more equitable identification practices and OSPI to have more transparency in data recording. We know that students from marginalized communities won’t have the opportunity to reach their full potential without the support of this bill.

Let’s create awareness of HB 1611 among all Representatives NOW so they will be ready to vote YES when it comes to the floor!

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Contact your two Representatives and ask them to vote “Yes” on HB 1611. There are several ways to do this:

I urge you to vote YES for HB 1611. HB 1611 is an act to advance equity in programs for highly capable students. The bill will require districts to have more equitable identification practices and OSPI to have more transparency in data recording. Your support will mean that more students will have access to highly capable services across the state and that systemic barriers, currently present for our marginalized communities, will be removed.
