Application Guidelines

  • To provide clock hours, the in-service offering must be at least one (1) hour WAC 181-85-030 (6).
  • One (1) clock hour may be assigned for each 60 minutes of approved in-service offering.  This can include “reasonable” time for break and passing time.
  • Participants must register prior to taking courses, and registration list should be provided to WAETAG before the in-service offering.
  • Clock hours may not be issued retroactively WAC 181-85-045; 181-85-200.
  • Program content should empower educators to support the educational and social emotional development of Highly Capable students.

Application Checklist

The following information will be required in the Clock Hour Provider Application.

  • Date of course
  • Number of clock hours being offered
  • Course objectives and program agenda in PDF format
  • Instructors and their qualifications (CV)
  • Relation of course to clock hour standards WAC 181-85-202

Application Timeline

We recommend completing the application at least 8 weeks prior to your event.  We require a minimum of 4 weeks.

Our Clock Hour Committee will review your application and respond to the primary contact listed in your application within 10 business days. 

Administrative fees vary and help cover the cost and time of the review and approval process, creating the evaluation and clock hour forms, and records maintenance.
