Co-Teaching 5th Grade TAG Math Through the Pandemic: Resisting Inertia of the Familiar but Flawed

In this session, we will focus on the story of our journey of collaboration and co-teaching a TAG 5th grade math enrichment group during the 2020-21 school year. This was an opt-in group outside the regular school day, recruited by teacher recommendations from the four elementary schools that feed into the most diverse middle school in our district as well as through district-level testing for TAG. We utilized our role as coaches to advertise the group to 5th grade teachers who were engaging in coaching with us, who nominated students for the group.
