Welcome to Washington, Dr. Tamra Stambaugh

Dr. Stambaugh is the new Margo Long Endowed Chair in Gifted Education and professor in graduate studies at Whitworth University. If you have worked in gifted education, you have likely used or seen her curriculum books for educators and students: the Jacob’s Ladder Reading Comprehension Program (with Joyce VanTassel-Baska), Advanced Curriculum from Vanderbilt University’s Program for Talented Youth, and Leading Change in Gifted Education (with Bronwyn MacFarlane). Stambaugh has also authored or co-authored journal articles and book chapters on a variety of topics focusing on curriculum, instruction and leadership. Her current research includes the impact of accelerated curriculum on student achievement, teacher effectiveness and talent development factors – especially for students of poverty.
